Position: Optical Thin Films Coating Engineer
Department: Engineering
Reports to: VP Engineering
General Responsibilities Outline
- Responsible for the full scope of producing coatings, including but not limited to optimal coating design, smooth machine operation, operator competence, and measurement of results.
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications and drawings as it relates to coating, in addition to interpreting mil-specs.
- Produce thorough and easy to understand work instructions.
- Develop new processes to optimize and expand existing coating capabilities.
- Determine effective cause and corrective procedures for failed coating runs.
- Assist department supervisor and the Production Coordinator by lending expertise in engineering principles to ensure smooth operation of the department and to keep the commitment schedule maintained.

Job Opening Summary
Position: Production Control Coordinator
Department: Production Control
Reports to: Production Manager
General Responsibilities Outline
- With an in-depth understanding of the optics production process, apply the most efficient methods for scheduling on-time production
- Maintain 95% on-time delivery
- Work with all production departments to coordinate and manage job progress. Communicate status updates to the Production Manager and/or Sales Dept.
- Constantly push to provide shorter delivery times
- Coordinate with department leaders and engineers to ensure timely completion of job quotations and return of information to the Sales Dept.
- Work with department leaders and engineers to correct production problems and adjust the schedule accordingly to meet budgetary and time constraints
- Manage in-house material inventory and work with the Sales Dept. to keep the proper amount of material on-hand for production needs
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of inventory and associated reports
- Coordinate with Shipping/Receiving Clerk to ensure efficient and timely flow of products being shipped out and inventory being taken in
- Lead weekly production meeting and actively participate in departmental continuous improvement meetings
- Cross-train to learn other tasks throughout the plant, as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in emphasis in math or engineering, or alternatively, at least five years of production scheduling experience

Position: Quality Assurance Manager
Department: Inspection
Reports to: Production Manager
General Responsibilities Outline
- Coordinate, prioritize, and schedule jobs within the Inspection Dept. to best satisfy scheduled shipping dates and ensure that there is maximum throughput and minimum backlog of jobs to be inspected
- Manage calibration system for test and measurement equipment
- Oversee RMA internal and external actions
- Responsible for test glass and material slab certification
- Proactively assist production depts with preventive and corrective actions
- Establish and constantly evaluate inspection procedures for improvement
- Serve as company’s quality and ISO liaison, communicating with government inspectors and customers
- Educate, train, and develop inspectors to maximize their proficiency and knowledge of inspection techniques, as well as the optical fabrication process
- Educate, train, and develop internal auditors to conduct audits to check for nonconformities and suggestions for improvement
- Schedule and facilitate quarterly internal audits and annual external audits to ensure the company’s adherence to ISO standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred experience with quality assurance or relevant field
- Preferred experience with ISO auditing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook, etc.)
